The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program
Louisiana's Fortify Homes Program offers grants of up to $10,000 for homeowners to upgrade their roofs to the FORTIFIED Roof standard, a building method that seals the roof deck, reinforces edges, and uses ring-shank nails that nearly double wind resistance. Homes in Orleans Parish are eligible, and homeowners who complete the upgrade receive a FORTIFIED certificate they can share with their insurer for a possible premium discount.
The program runs through a lottery in grant rounds, so register when a round opens. Wait until you are selected before starting work or choosing a contractor. If the lottery is currently closed or you would rather not wait, there are two other paths: self-fund the project with a certified FORTIFIED Evaluator and a qualified contractor, or ask your agent to add a FORTIFIED endorsement to your policy, which lets your insurer replace your roof to the FORTIFIED standard after a covered event.
Thinking about a FORTIFIED roof? Hargrove Roofing - New Orleans builds to the standard and is glad to walk you through your options. Call (318) 626-5599 or message us online.

Know Who’s on Your Roof
Hargrove Roofing has announced the acquisition of Method Exteriors, marking an expansion that strengthens Hargrove Roofing’s position as a leading provider of residential and commercial roofing across the region.
The acquisition brings together two companies known for quality craftsmanship, customer-focused service and strong reputations.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with the city of New Orleans,” said Billy Hargrove, CEO of Hargrove Roofing. “It’s more than just business, for us. I called New Orleans home following college and used to work at Commander’s Palace as a cook. I lived right off of St. Charles in Uptown and remember that time fondly. So, I’m excited to now call it another type of home both for myself and the company. We’ll be able to help the community with all of their roofing needs, during the good and the bad.”
Ryan Adler, who will serve as the New Orleans branch president, added: “Method Exteriors was built with a strong belief in relationships, high-caliber workmanship, and serving the communities of Southeast Louisiana the right way. Working alongside Hargrove Roofing creates an exciting opportunity to extend their reach into the Southeast Louisiana market with a team that understands the people, projects, and relationships that make this region unique.”
Adler holds high hopes for the branch. “Our values, vision, and long-term approach to serving customers aligned naturally, which made this partnership a very easy decision for me. I am excited for what the future holds for Hargrove Roofing across the Gulf South.”
Hargrove Roofing, established in 2017, has multiple branches across Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee. Most recently, they were recognized as one of the top 50 roofing companies in the nation.

Full-Service Roofing for Homes and Buildings
New Orleans roofs take consistent punishment. With over 60 inches of rain a year, high humidity, intense heat, and a storm season running from June through November, an asphalt roof here typically has a shorter lifespan than the standard 20-year estimate, and a small issue in August turns structural by October if no one addresses the damage. We handle the full range of residential and commercial roofing, from a routine inspection to a complete replacement.
Our roofing services for New Orleans homeowners and property owners include:
- Roof inspections
- Roof repairs and maintenance
- Roof replacement and installation
- Storm damage repair
- Roof coatings and spray foam
- Commercial roofing
- Attic and roof ventilation
- Insurance claim support
Whether you’re dealing with storm damage or planning a replacement you’ve been putting off, we tell you what the work involves and what it costs before anything starts.
Financing is available for homeowners who need options, so a repair or replacement doesn’t have to wait longer than it should.
Storm Damage and Insurance Claims
Roof damage from a Gulf Coast storm comes with a second problem most homeowners aren’t ready for: the insurance claim. Coordinating with an adjuster, tracking documentation, and following up when the insurer goes quiet is a separate full-time effort on top of managing the repair itself.
We handle the claim process directly. Our team communicates with your adjuster, provides the documentation your insurer requires, and gives you a clear picture of where things stand throughout. Customers who have been through the process with us consistently say the same thing: they didn’t have to manage the back-and-forth on their own.
We’re available around the clock for roofing emergencies. If a storm moves through the area overnight and you’re dealing with a leak or structural damage, call us.
